Travel Deals Europe

Would I be better with a travel card or sticking with my bank card when travelling round Europe?

By travel card I mean something like a Post Office or Travelex card, and my bank card is just a Visa Debit for my HBOS current account. If a travel card is better any idea what's the best kind to get? And if a bank card is better any recomendations of banks or cards? I'm going travelling round Europe for 3 months, leaving on May 18th, so kind of need to get it sorted quick!

  1. Personally, I just use my bank card. It really depends on the benefits of your travel cards. I can hardly remember any of those listed on the mini-banks in European countries, BUT I did not really look for them either. How much does it cost each deposit of your Visa? And can you buy the stuff in stores free of any Visa charge?
  2. When I go overseas, I actually take both.Last time I went, I had called my credit card co. to let them know that I would be using card in Europe. Somehow, these idiots shut my card down. I did have a travel card which worked out just fine. Be sure to call your bank and let them know you will be using your debit card overseas, just to be safe. Have a nice day.
  3. I use a bank card.
