Vacation to Europe(Spain, Italy, France) What can we do there? I'm going on vacation to Spain, Italy, and France, and I wanted some ideas of stuff to do in each country. Obviously in Italy I'll go to the Eiffel tower, I'm going to make reservations at the restaurant inside the eiffel tower, and in italy I want to see the leaning tower of pisa, and take a gondola ride. I'm not really sure about anything to do in Spain though. What are some things you would suggest doing in Spain, Italy, and France?
I'd like some information on buying a vacation home in Europe? We are an American couple in California considering purchasing a vacation home in Europe (either Italy, Spain or France). Has anyone done this? Are there are sites you can recommend for info? I am most curious as to whether we can finance the purchase like we would in the US. Thanks in advance!
What to do in Europe, specifically Germany /italy area? Ok, this is alot that I am asking but I have posted questions on here before travelling before and was really happy with the responses I got, so lets try it again.. During the first of October we(3 guys 28 yrs old) will be flying into Munich, for obvious Oktoberfest festivities, which I am curious, where to stay, what to see, which tents to go to, etc. But I really only want to go to Oktoberfest 2 days, which days are the best? Our trip lasts 10 days, and I would love to see as much as possible without making it a speed vacation. we are thinking about renting a car because the cost of a train ride. We definitately want to try to go to italy, but what are the must sees in italy? we have also talked about vienna, croatia, bern, and a few other neighboring places. I know this is verbose, but I am sure someone has done this before and has some great reccomendations for us to make this an awesome trip! Thanks in advance!
Experience with 5 month old in Italy or Croatia? We live in central Europe and want to vacation in Italy or Croatia with our infant. I am especially interested in info on 1) ease of travel, such as availability of changing facilities; 2) social factors -- I've heard Italy is magical with a baby because the people love bambini so much. Is this true? Do babies get the same reception in Croatia? I would also appreciate any other advice or info on travelling in these countries with a baby. Thank you!

Please do advice on the rough estimate of total cost for a vacation for two following the schedule below: Zurich (one night) -> Lake Geneva (2 nights)->Paris (2nights) -> Brussels,Belgium (1 night) ->Venice (2 nights) -> Athens (2 nights) -> Zurich (one night). Do you think its better to follow a tour or to go on our own? Which is more economical? Thanks a lot in advance! actually the place that i really wanna go to in switzerland is where there is lakes and mountains with beautiful scenary of nature...which will be the best place in Switz for that sort of experience?
I will be traveling to Italy/Europe for about 10 days in march, where should i go for the best vacation? Im searching everywhere and im just a little overwhelmed..I know i want to spend a day or two in Venice to begin, then take the train out of venice to rome, and rome to maybe florence. I really would like to see as much as europe as I have time for (countries nearby as least), but I dont want to travel too far since I have to get back to venice. Any recommendations?? If I can do something like Rome/Florence to somewhere in greece, and maybe spain that would be great, if near the end I can take a direct train back to Venice to fly out. Advice would be greattttly appreciated. Specific trains would be even better ---Flying in I have a 15 hour layover in Paris, which should be decent to at least see some of the tourist spots, so anywhere besides paris would be great. Thats the next trip
Traveling to Italy for the first time? In less than a week I will be going on vacation to Italy. I've never been to Italy, or any part of Europe before. I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips for what to expect, things to bring, and things I should try while I'm there. I'm going to Rome, Florence, Venice, and Sorento. i already have tickets for the Vatican, Uffizzi, and the Academia, and am planning on visiting pompeii
What's the cheapest tour company for booking a vacation to Europe? I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive vacation package for this summer to Europe. I want something that includes airfare as well. I'm not sure exactly where I want to go, but I'm considering the UK, Ireland, France, and Italy (not all of them together, I know that would get really expensive). I know Contiki is pretty cheap, but I've heard bad things about them through friends. What are some of the cheapest companies to go through?
Can a sex offender travel to Europe for vacation? My family wants to take a cruise to Europe for the next reunion. But one of my relatives is a registered sex offender. He did his time, wasn't put on parole, has no outstanding fines, no repeated offenses. If we were to fly into Spain to board the cruise ship, or maybe even Italy, would he be denied access into the country? It was just a very unfortunate event when he was in high school, involving angry parents. He is one year away from it being lifted off his record.
Vacations in Europe? My mom and I just came back from a trip to Italy and we loved it there. We want to go back to Europe, but this time we want to go to another country. Any good ideas?

I am considering a two week vacation to Europe what would be the best place to visit? My thought is Germany and that area but I know nothing about it, I also considered Italy but heard lately it was very dangerous...I know nothing about either, any advice would be greatly appreciated especially from natives from Europe. It would be mainly sightseeing, nothing too 'wild' if you know what I mean. What would the minimal amount of time to see most of Europe? Its good to know about Italy, not sure where I heard that recently but it came as as surprise to me too. I can't choose as all of you made all of them sound so wonderful...guess I'll have to extend those two weeks and put a few more on my ever growing list....thank you all so much for your suggestions.

What i want (ideally) is to rent an apartment somewhere in Europe (Portugal or Italy maybe) and live for a couple months and travel around and see whatever I want at a leisurely pace. What i want to know is: where do you suggest trying to rent some place to live (not a super touristy place preferably)? How much money do you think it would take for just living expenses (rent/utilities)? I am starting to save money and I want to have an idea of how much I will need. Any advice welcome!

Where is the best place in Europe to invest in a small property for a vacation rental? I have always dreamed of owning a small property in Italy or Germany -I'm open to other places in Europe, too-and renting it as a vacation rental. I would then have the pleasure of using it myself once or twice a year and do upkeep, etc. I'm not a rich person-but I do know good investments exist. How do you go about doing this? Where are some beautiful, but untapped areas? Where is a good place to start looking?

Will an FM transmitter bought in US work in Europe? My husband and I are going on vacation to France and Italy. I want to put together some music for the journey (we are renting a car in both countries). However, I don't know for sure what sort of system these cars will have. The best bet of course it to bring an FM transmitter, because the cars will at least have radios. But, do FM transmitters bought in the US work just fine in Europe? Are the FM frequencies the same and the cigarette lighters universal? We'd be driving a Renault Twingo and a Fiat Punto or something similar, so these will probably be foreign cars. FM transmitter is the correct term for what I am asking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FM_transmitter_(personal_device) You hook your personal device (iPod, CD player, whatever) up to the FM transmitter and it will broadcast to whatever airwaves are not already occupied by other radio stations. This is a totally normal device, used frequently for people trying to listen to their iPod in cars. My question is whether or not this will work properly in Europe (specifically France in the Burgundy region and Italy in the Tuscany region). I know there is some concern over being in big cities where the radios are overloaded with broadcasts already. Also, I'd like to know if cigarette adapters are standard, as FM transmitters use this to power them or recharge a lot of the time.
Is it "acceptable" to wear shorts shorts in Italy? I'm a fifteen year old girl (from the US) and me and my family will be going to Italy this summer. This will be our first summer vacation in Europe (we have done spring and winter, but it was all too cold to wear shorts). So, is it okay to wear short shorts in regular towns and cities in Italy? I know for churches you have to have covered shoulders and modest pants. We will mainly be in Umbria and Rome. Thanks a million :)

Trip to Italy is fading because of Money, what other options do I have? I wanted to take my hubby to Italy next summer and the trips were about $2000 (or a bit more) per person. Now this dream is fading because of finances in our home. I definitely want to go on an unforgettable vacation with him but don't know where to go? My budget is now half that possibly. I am in Florida and I am not interested in a cruise. Would it be possible to go to Europe at all? Forgot to mention that this trip would celebrate our 10th yr anniversary, that's why I do want to travel to an unforgettable place with him.

What are the requirements for a Filipina to visit Italy? I am an American living and working in Qatar and am going on vacation to Italy soon. I would like to take my Filipino girlfriend (with a Philippines passport) with me. We are both here on work visas. What are the requirements for her to travel to Italy, or even Europe? I will purchase the tickets and hotel and will provide proof, if needed, of course. Can she simply go to any European country embassy over here and apply? (The French embassy never replied to my email, so screw them. I am well-off and will spend my money elsewhere.) I surfed the web but can't really find any info on this.

Which destination do you think is better and why? I like answers from anyone who has been in either places or both. Thanks.
